Rising country star Waylon Wyatt releases his new single “Dead Man Walkin’” today on Music Soup/Darkroom Records. The track marks a bold new direction for Waylon, blending blues and roots with his signature country Americana into a sound that feels both timeless and distinctly his own. LISTEN HERE.
Earlier this year, Waylon released “Didn’t Forget,” delivering his most affecting lyrics to date. This song also features powerhouse Wyatt Flores, the two of them creating beautiful harmonies and emotive lyrics. LISTEN HERE. He also recently collaborated with acclaimed producer Ian Fitchuk (Kacey Musgraves, Maggie Rogers, Jelly Roll) on “In Loving Melody” (LISTEN HERE), a poignant meditation on love and loss, the track follows Fitchuk and Waylon’s previous track, “Pretty Little Liar”

Waylon says of the track: “I wrote this song with two of the first producers I ever worked with. Two of the most talented and influential people I’ve had in my life beginning my music journey. Brett Truitt, JR Atkins, and I were sitting in the middle of good ole Arkansas when we wrote this absolute rocking song. We were all wanting to write a good jam that’d really get heads bobbin’ and people movin’ and groovin’ as they gave it a listen. Needless to say I think “Dead Man Walkin’” cracked that code. Try it yourself. If you don’t have to restrain from dancin’ along to it I swear you ain’t human.”
Driven by chugging guitars, piano, and organ, the track has been a fan-favorite in Waylon’s live set since he first introduced it on the road earlier this year. With lines like “All the pretty girls in my hometown never looked at me like you do right now,” delivered over an energetic, jamboree-like groove, the song blends lively keys, a standout guitar solo, and a vocal performance that echoes a seasoned cowboy.
