Max Norton’s latest single, ‘The Wolves,’ arrives as a meaningful continuation of an already accomplished musical journey. After spending ten years as a drummer for numerous recording artists, Norton has steadily transitioned into a fully self directed creative role, where songwriting, performance, and production come together under his own vision.

Originally from Tampa and shaped musically in Nashville, Norton’s path has taken him across stages both large and intimate. Over the past year and a half, he lived in London, a chapter sparked by repeated visits to the city for landmark performances, including Later with Jools Holland on the BBC and the iconic Glastonbury Festival. That extended stay became a period of focus and momentum, leading directly into the body of work that begins with ‘The Wolves.’

The single opens the door to Norton’s next series of songs, which he has recently completed. At its core, ‘The Wolves’ reflects a mindset built on motion and adaptability, capturing the feeling of pressing ahead while learning from everything that follows close behind. Norton describes the heart of the track in his own words: “The Wolves is a traveling song. It’s about that drive to push forward no matter what. There is always something trying to catch you or chase you, but you learn to live with it and use it to your advantage.”

Before stepping fully into his solo releases, Norton built an extensive live resume, appearing at major festivals such as Bonnaroo and Coachella, and performing on prominent television shows including Seth Myers and David Letterman. Those experiences helped shape his musical instincts while also clarifying his desire to create work that reflects his full artistic range.

In support of his own releases, Norton has performed across cities including New York City, Tampa, Los Angeles, Nashville, and London, building a live presence that mirrors the independence of his recorded output. Looking ahead, he is preparing for additional live dates scheduled through 2025 and into 2026, centered around ‘The Wolves.’

Now calling Muscle Shoals, Alabama home, Norton draws daily inspiration from the region’s history and atmosphere. Speaking about the influence of the area, he says, “All of my favorite records were made in the Shoals. The Singing River, as they say. There’s just something in the water.”

With ‘The Wolves,’ Max Norton continues to evolve, delivering music shaped by experience, movement, and a clear sense of creative purpose.
