Wolf Alice craft a striking sonic evolution with ‘The Clearing’ | Reflective, vibrant, and creatively fearless

UK band Wolf Alice return with The Clearing, a captivating new album that showcases both their emotional depth and sonic expansion. Released via RCA Records, the album arrives alongside focus track “Just Two Girls,” a tender, introspective cut that underscores the album’s central theme—finding clarity through connection.

Frontwoman Ellie Rowsell explains: “I was inspired by going for dinner with my friends — a couple of friends, at different times, just one-on-one. I noticed how much I was saying Oh my god yeah you’re so right! And I thought it was so nice to see how validating these conversations with my girlfriends are…” Her reflections thread through the music with poetic warmth and honesty.

Each song on The Clearing marks a significant waypoint in the band’s artistic journey. Tracks like “Thorns” and “Play It Out” explore self-interrogation and vulnerability, while “Bread Butter Tea Sugar” offers moments of release and celebration. With Grammy-winning producer Greg Kurstin, the group refines its sound to balance grandeur and intimacy, bridging Fleetwood Mac-inspired production with London-born indie energy.

The release was marked by a landmark live show at The Dublin Castle, a nod to the band’s North London roots, followed by a fan pop-up experience that offered exclusive access to merch and early listening.

With previous singles “Bloom Baby Bloom”, “The Sofa”, and “White Horses” paving the way, The Clearing completes the narrative arc, delivering a record full of discovery, empowerment, and reflective storytelling.

As they move confidently into this next phase, Wolf Alice show they are no longer seeking direction—they’ve arrived with intention and artistry fully intact.
