From operating rooms to open mics, Tim Camrose unveils his America-inspired track “Empty Roads.”
Tim Camrose’s musical comeback is more than a retirement hobby—it’s the revival of a lifelong passion. The Northwest England-based singer-songwriter, once a surgeon and university professor, is now stepping into the spotlight with “Empty Roads,” a song inspired by his travels across the United States.
The track is the first taste of Camrose’s upcoming project, ‘American Stories,’ which features songs drawn from time spent in cities like Chicago, San Francisco, and New York. In his own words, “Tunes & lyrics would come to him” during long drives or flights—experiences that have finally become fully realized compositions.
Growing up on Elton John and Bruce Springsteen, Tim’s storytelling is vivid and melodic. “Empty Roads” delivers emotional resonance through subtle narrative detail and heartfelt phrasing, rooted in real experiences, not fantasy.
Camrose’s songs are deeply personal. “Didn’t Say” is a tribute to his parents; “Scared Anymore” mourns the sudden loss of his brother. “A Light in the Dark” pays homage to the homeless youth he once cared for as a doctor—portraying them not as victims, but as young people who “don’t want pity, just a chance to show the world what they can do.”
Now performing live again, Tim has graced the stages of Dublin Castle and Band on the Wall, building a grassroots following. With songs rooted in honesty and a transatlantic journey just beginning, Tim Camrose brings not only music, but meaning to every stage he steps on.
