After two years away, Healy returns with “RUNNING LAPS,” a meditative song on self-sabotage and personal change.

After more than two years without a new release, Healy returns with “RUNNING LAPS,” a powerful new track exploring cycles of personal sabotage and the pursuit of emotional clarity. The song sees Healy return to his indie-pop roots while stepping into deeper emotional territory.

“Am I departing from my old self and habits, or have I been just self-sabotaging and giving up when the going gets tough?” he explains. “The imagery that came to mind was that iconic photo of Muhammad Ali looking over Sonny Liston — my higher self being down on the ground.”

Healy is no stranger to introspective songwriting. With 200 million+ streams to his name and collaborations with artists like Cautious Clay, his music has earned praise from fans and peers alike—including a public endorsement from SZA.

Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Healy grew up surrounded by gospel and soul, with artists like Earth, Wind & Fire soundtracking his childhood. Though he earned a degree in physical therapy, music ultimately took precedence.

He released Subluxe independently in 2017 before signing with RCA Records for his 2021 album Tungsten. In 2023, he dropped his Look at God EP, featuring collaborations with The Imports.

With “RUNNING LAPS,” Healy begins a new era—one defined by vulnerability, honesty, and sonic evolution. Stay tuned for more.
