With “Growing Pains”, Trousdale blends harmonies and heartache in a bold new direction.
Trousdale returns with Growing Pains, a poignant, harmony-driven record that reflects the emotional weight and quiet strength of navigating personal transformation. Out now via Independent Co., the trio’s second full-length effort explores change as both a challenge and a catalyst.
“We’ve been thinking a lot about the tension that comes with change,” says Lauren Jones. “Wanting it, fighting it, embracing it — but learning to thrive in that moment.”
“From what was, something new can always grow,” echoes Quinn D’Andrea.
The trio — D’Andrea, Jones, and Georgia Greene — have never sounded more unified. Growing Pains was co-produced with John Mark Nelson and recorded live in the studio with a full rhythm section. With additional writing from Mags Duval and Lawrence Rothman, the album strikes a balance between Trousdale’s golden pop sensibilities and their growing country-inspired flair.
The result is an album that feels lived-in yet fresh — a full-bodied evolution of their sound that speaks to heartache, hope, loneliness, and strength.
“Making this album has been a journey of growth and reinvention,” the trio shares. “We focused on simplicity and joy, and allowed ourselves to ask for help — a humbling but beautiful part of this process.”
With Growing Pains, Trousdale solidifies themselves as a force in modern pop-country. Their harmonies are tighter, their stories deeper, and their message unmistakable: growth may hurt, but it’s worth it.
