Taylor Acorn | ‘Hangman’ hits with emotion and energy | Debut album ‘Poster Child’ arrives October 2025
Taylor Acorn has always worn her heart on her sleeve—and with her latest single “Hangman,” she continues to master the art of turning internal chaos into anthemic pop-punk catharsis. Now signed to Fearless Records, the Nashville-based artist has announced her long-awaited debut album Poster Child, due out October 24, 2025.
“Hangman” arrives as the second single from the project, building on the emotional momentum of “Goodbye, Good Riddance.” This time, Acorn leans into that familiar feeling of being stuck despite everything seeming to go right. “The idea of ‘Hangman’ came about during a time when, even though everything in my life was going well, I felt emotionally stuck—like the universe was playing a weird game with me,” she explains.
“I imagined the universe playing hangman as this fun visual—despite how emotional the song feels. It’s a different little spin on being down on your luck and trying to move forward.”
Blending late-‘90s angst with a fresh, modern energy, Acorn has built a reputation for giving pop-punk a new voice. With her debut album finally on the way, Poster Child is set to expand her reach while staying true to the confessional songwriting that defines her.
What makes “Hangman” stand out is its duality—melancholy wrapped in big hooks, vulnerability delivered with strength. It’s the sound of someone finally ready to tell their full story.
For longtime fans and newcomers alike, Poster Child promises to be a defining record. And if “Hangman” is any indication, Taylor Acorn is just getting started.
