Shyfrin Alliance return with their most conceptually ambitious project yet, ‘In the Shadow of Time’, the follow-up to their 2024 debut album ‘Upside Down Blues’, which reached half a million streams and found support on major radio stations throughout the US, UK, and Europe.
Led by Eduard Shyfrin, an award-winning author and scientist, the project stands at the intersection of music, intellectual inquiry, and spiritual exploration. This new album extends Eduard’s unique artistic vision, combining blues-rock traditions with philosophical storytelling rooted in his academic work on Kabbalah and quantum physics.
The album features seven original tracks recorded in Paris alongside prominent French rock musicians at Barillet, Ferber, and Grand Armee studios. Each composition addresses a different aspect of time – from abstract notions of temporal existence to emotional reflections on how time influences our lives.
The single ‘Buddha Blues’ was released ahead of the album, showcasing upbeat yet introspective blues-rock layered with piano, hammond organ, and gospel elements. Its core message draws from Buddhist philosophy, suggesting time as a path to healing.

“I don’t think there exists an album dedicated purely to the topic of time,” Eduard explains. “You will not find another album like this. My principle is I may always be afraid to enter new areas, but I will always enter them. Even if it means daring to hit the Wall of Time.”
The album’s title track leans into drama and emotion, casting time as a powerful, formless force. Through powerful vocals and instrumentation, the song paints a metaphor-rich portrait of humanity’s struggle to comprehend time.
With ‘In the Shadow of Time’, Shyfrin Alliance continue to challenge the limits of genre and theme, offering a bold, intellectual take on the blues-rock tradition.
