SG Lewis announces ‘Anemoia’ and teams up with Shygirl for the vibrant new single “Sugar.”

SG Lewis’s new single, “Sugar,” featuring Shygirl, is out now — and it offers a glimpse into the sonic world of his upcoming album Anemoia, out September 5 on Forever Days/Astralwerks.

Reuniting after their viral collaboration “mr useless,” the duo once again brings their seamless chemistry into focus with a track that feels built for summer nights. “Sugar” blends Lewis’s signature lush production with Shygirl’s magnetic tone, evoking the emotion and rhythm of the dancefloor.

The album explores themes of imagined nostalgia, rooted in SG’s fascination with dance music eras he never lived through. “When I discovered the word Anemoia, it articulated a feeling I’d struggled to describe for so long,” he explains.

Drawing influence from trance, Balearic house, and early 2000s electronica, SG builds a soundscape that captures both movement and memory. “This album is rooted in the dancefloor… I want Anemoia to be a soundtrack to living in the present — to creating the kind of moments that others might one day feel nostalgic for.”

In addition to the album, SG Lewis has confirmed a North American tour launching this fall. The tour and Anemoia signal a major moment for the producer, who spent the past year grounding himself creatively in London after years of touring.

With “Sugar,” SG Lewis and Shygirl deliver more than a single — they offer a warm prelude to a season filled with reflection, connection, and rhythm.
