Rezz previews upcoming album with industrial-inspired single ‘Downward’, a high-powered collaboration with Owl Vision.
With her fifth studio album As The Pendulum Swings on the horizon, Rezz teams up with Swedish artist Owl Vision for ‘Downward’, an electrifying final preview before the full release. A pulsating fusion of gritty basslines and hypnotic production, ‘Downward’ finds Rezz deepening the dark, immersive world she’s crafted for the album—arriving on September 12 via HypnoVizion.
Rezz has built a reputation for her genre-defying sound, and ‘Downward’ is no exception. The single takes a fresh spin on industrial bass with a video game-inspired twist, inviting listeners into a sonic world filled with tension, intensity, and striking retro flair.
“I went on a deep dive on some of my favorite underground midtempo and industrial producers, and I re-discovered Owl Vision,” Rezz explains. “I reached out and he sent me a demo, which I finished within a day or two… I’m stoked for everyone to see the video we got made for it.” 
The full 8-bit animated music video adds a new dimension, bringing the single’s aesthetic to life with rich visual storytelling that feels both nostalgic and futuristic.
Owl Vision added, “We had talked about working together a few years back so I’m really glad we reconnected… I think we both got really excited when we found the sound.”
Following earlier singles ‘Glass Veins’, ‘Prophecy’, ‘Contorted’, and ‘Telepathy’, ‘Downward’ sets the final tone for the project. The album will coincide with Rezz’s upcoming PORTAL tour stop at Tacoma Dome on September 26, where she becomes the first female electronic DJ to headline the venue.
