MOJA, the New Jersey-born independent recording artist and producer, has unveiled his latest single, “I Feel Different,” offering a vivid look into the energetic, free-flowing nature of his upcoming project What’s Up With Him?. The track captures a spontaneous sense of joy and wonder, built on melodic production and rooted in personal inspiration.
“‘I Feel Different’ is about that moment when you get that euphoric adrenaline rush,” MOJA explains. “That moment when you awake, like a pop-star, and feel like you just ate a mushroom from Super Mario.” With its imaginative sonic landscape, the track encapsulates themes of naivety, adventure, and creative spark.
The inspiration for the single arrived unexpectedly. After a relaxed evening with gummy edibles, MOJA woke up and sat at his keyboard, soon crafting the song’s melody. “Once I had the production, everything else came with it,” he adds.
MOJA’s musical roots trace back to his childhood—playing trumpet, singing in church, and absorbing his Jamaican/Caribbean cultural background. “My life is what I call ‘trapped in a world of sound,’” he reflects. “I am curious for a lot of things in this life, but music has stolen most of my curiosity.”
Listeners seeking an introduction to MOJA’s sonic universe can explore his previous full-length project I Was Curious, which lays the foundation for his evolving sound and story. With “I Feel Different,” MOJA continues to channel creativity and emotion in equal measure, reinforcing his distinct voice in today’s hip-hop and alternative music landscape.
