Matt Maeson delivers ‘Halfway to Whole’ | A moving single from his upcoming album ‘A Quiet And Harmless Living’
Matt Maeson has released ‘Halfway to Whole’, the latest single from his upcoming third studio album A Quiet And Harmless Living, set for release September 12 through Atlantic Records. The new track continues Maeson’s reputation for honest storytelling, blending stark emotion with anthemic melodies.
Reflecting on its meaning, Maeson explained:
“‘Halfway to Whole’ is a song I wrote about a depressive state that I get to sometimes… The song is about all the things I think about in that state of mind. The hopelessness, the insecurities, the failures. It’s a song that exemplifies how important it is for me to admit these thoughts when I have them and try to process them the best I can. This song did a lot for me in that way and as always, I hope it can do as much for the listener.”
The album documents his personal journey over the past few years, including getting married, becoming a father, and moving cities. Thematically, A Quiet And Harmless Living dives into self-discovery, deconstruction, and renewal. “It was very healing to write this,” Maeson said. “I was going through a lot. So, A Quiet and Harmless Living is about deconstruction and figuring out who I am now as a person in a completely different season.”
Fans can look forward to Maeson’s 42-date world tour, beginning in September with North American stops in Los Angeles, Austin, Toronto, and Nashville, followed by European and UK dates in 2026. With ‘Halfway to Whole’, Maeson not only gives listeners a glimpse of the deeply personal stories driving his new record but also sets the tone for an album that promises to resonate on a profound level.
