“Everlasting” sees Matt Maeson explore fatherhood and self-doubt with poetic vulnerability.
Matt Maeson’s latest release, “Everlasting,” is a poetic confession shaped by personal upheaval. Out now via Atlantic Records, the song finds Maeson at a crossroads—navigating marriage, fatherhood, and relocation, while wrestling with self-doubt and emotional fatigue.
The lyrical rawness of “Everlasting” stands out. “I wrote Everlasting from a very defeated place. I was trying to be a good father, a good husband, a good artist, etc…I was failing at all of it…” says Maeson. His words are piercingly honest, offering a rare look at the silent weight carried behind the scenes.
Accompanied by a stirring music video directed by Matthew Daniel Siskin, the song builds toward a cathartic chant: “Grit your teeth and make us proud. Fake it when you don’t know how.” It’s both a plea and a promise—a reflection of inner tension and quiet perseverance.
“Everlasting” comes on the heels of his live album and solo tour, and serves as a bridge into a new season of music and meaning. Maeson also revealed a 42-date tour reuniting with his band, beginning in North America this fall and continuing through Europe and the UK into early 2026.
It’s a moving reminder that music, at its best, can serve as both mirror and balm.
