Marlhy opens up about life in her 20s on her deeply personal debut album, filled with honest lyrics and alt-pop textures.
With the release of her debut album the thoughts that keep me up at night, Marlhy makes an unforgettable entrance into the alt-pop and alt-rock landscape. The record is a bold and heartfelt exploration of what it means to grow up and find peace in the chaos of young adulthood.
The album’s production was led by Michael Kamerman, Aaron Blackmar, and Christian Fiore, and it features additional contributions from collaborators such as Jordyn Kane, Olivia Cargile, Kella Armitage, Fran Hall, and Cameron Walker. Each track offers a new layer to Marlhy’s story, grounded in authenticity and vulnerability.
“Entering my 20s was a huge wake-up call… The pressure to ‘figure it out’ when everyone else seems to be moving forward was intense,” Marlhy explains. “I want my music to help others who feel the same way find peace in uncertainty.”

Across the album’s tracks, Marlhy delivers emotionally resonant narratives that capture everything from heartbreak to letting go. “young and naïve” reflects on youth’s wild freedom, “you.” dives into the pain of necessary endings, and “: black” takes a raw look at the emotional aftermath of lost love.
“Writing this album helped me realize… there’s something to be said about allowing life to naturally guide you,” she adds. “I hope this album helps others feel like they’re not alone in their own struggles.”
