Lord Huron collaborates with Kristen Stewart for “Who Laughs Last?” a cinematic single exploring vulnerability and suspense.
Lord Huron, the multi-platinum Los Angeles-based band, has teamed up with Academy Award-nominated actress Kristen Stewart for their latest single, “Who Laughs Last?” Out now via Mercury Records, the track marks Stewart’s recording debut and Lord Huron’s first original release in two years.
“Who Laughs Last?” takes listeners on a haunting journey, driven by a palm-muted guitar riff and a relentless beat. Kristen Stewart’s spoken word performance is a chilling highlight, with vivid imagery like: “I kept my eyes on the long white lines.” The song builds toward its climax as Ben Schneider delivers the hook: “You don’t remember what I said, but you’ll remember what I did.”
The accompanying music video, starring Stewart, evokes a Lynchian noir aesthetic, amplifying the song’s sense of suspense and mystery.
Speaking about the collaboration, Schneider shared: “I’d been a fan of Kristen for a long time, and I kept hearing her voice as I wrote this song. I reached out, thinking it was a long shot, but she was on board immediately. She brought so much creativity and understanding to the project—it was an ideal collaboration.”
With “Who Laughs Last?” Lord Huron continues to innovate, offering fans a compelling blend of music, storytelling, and visuals that sets the stage for the next chapter in their artistic journey.
