Leigh-Anne shares “Been A Minute,” her first single since the 2024 EP “No Hard Feelings.”

Leigh-Anne returns with new single “Been A Minute”, signaling a vibrant chapter that’s rooted in self-expression and cultural celebration. Released via Virgin Music Group, the track brings together familiar sounds with fresh energy.

Sampling the classic “Work” by Masters at Work, the single is built around rhythmic grooves and sharp vocal delivery. Elijah “GYW Eli” Ross and Lasse Qvist bring crisp, dancehall-inspired production to the table, while Leigh-Anne co-writes and leads the record with assurance.A standout feature is the track’s official music video, directed by Femi Lade. Set in a fever dream version of carnival, the video features dynamic choreography and bold visuals.

The narrative introduces a symbolic twist as a mysterious figure in red temporarily takes over, only to reaffirm Leigh-Anne’s dominance on the screen.

Explaining the personal connection, Leigh-Anne said:

“There’s something powerful about sampling a song that shaped me growing up… ‘Been a Minute’ is fun, nostalgic, and the first taste of this new era…”

Her last release, the ‘No Hard Feelings’ EP, revealed deeper artistic dimensions, fusing her Bajan and Jamaican roots with a modern R&B palette. That project led into a successful sold-out debut tour in the UK and Ireland.

“Been A Minute” serves as the beginning of her next phase. She’ll be performing across major festivals including Reading and Leeds, and headlining key events like Manchester Pride and Mighty Hoopla Malta this summer.
