Laidback Luke reinvents his sound with “It Clicked,” a high-energy club anthem embracing Dutch house influences. Out now via Dim Mak.
Laidback Luke is reclaiming his sound with “It Clicked,” out now via Dim Mak. A fierce return to his underground roots, the track embodies the raw energy and rebellious spirit that first made him an icon in electronic music.
After years of adapting to the commercial streaming market, Luke felt the need to reset. “I’ve just been trying to conform,” he admits. “I want to sound loud, harsh, and funky again—just like I did in the early 2010s.” With influences from Crookers, Switch, and The Bloody Beetroots, “It Clicked” is packed with pounding basslines and a bold, electrifying groove.
His signing to Dim Mak marks another milestone, reuniting him with longtime friend Steve Aoki. “When I saw Steve at Tomorrowland, I told him, ‘I’m about to sign with Dim Mak!’ and he said, ‘That’s an honor. Welcome to the family.’”
Beyond his own work, Laidback Luke has shaped the careers of dance music legends like Avicii, Afrojack, and Nicky Romero. Now, he’s proving that his own story is still evolving, with It Clicked marking the first of many upcoming releases.
This is just the beginning of a new creative era—one driven by the raw, underground energy that first made Laidback Luke a household name. It Clicked is out now on Dim Mak.
