KARABA releases “Surfacing,” the last single before her “Tides” EP—an Afro house journey of self and spirit.

Rising Afro house innovator KARABA has released “Surfacing,” the third and final single ahead of her new EP Tides arriving June 13 via ONErpm. With this track, KARABA reaches the narrative high point of her five-part project—emerging from the depths with clarity and calm.

“‘Surfacing’ is the final single of my EP, where everything comes together,” KARABA explains. “After the tension and high energy of the journey, it feels like a moment of rebirth and arrival—floating above the water, chanting, and embracing the calm after the storm.”

The track draws on textured field recordings, Afro-inspired drum patterns, and otherworldly vocal elements to create a meditative release that closes the thematic arc introduced in earlier singles “Siren” and “Dark Waters.”

Formerly a professional dancer, KARABA’s sound is deeply informed by her physical connection to rhythm. Her music honors her French-Congolese roots, while her production style has earned global attention—including a Juno Award nomination in 2024 for “Mad Mess.”

Her career has accelerated with recent DSP support, including the cover of Spotify’s Fresh Finds Canada, and she is scheduled to perform at Lightning in a Bottle and AFRODOM Festival in the lead-up to the EP release.

“Surfacing” is available now on all streaming platforms. Pre-save Tides ahead of its June 13 release.
