Actor and comedian Jordan Firstman drops “Secrets”, a concept album of fan-inspired tracks. Out now via Capitol.
Capitol Records presents Secrets, the debut album from Jordan Firstman. Best known for his viral comedy, screen performances, and social media commentary, Firstman now reveals another layer of his creative identity as a singer-songwriter.
Drawing from his Instagram followers’ anonymous submissions, Secrets turns real-life DMs into music. The album’s songs are titled after these confessions, including the standout track “I’m quitting my job tomorri,” which arrives with a music video. Sonically rooted in UK garage, the track mixes the breezy sounds of Pink Pantheress with sharp, candid verses akin to Central Cee. The title’s deliberate typo signals the authentic, unfiltered nature of the project.
Since launching the concept during the pandemic, Firstman has received thousands of “deepest, darkest, and dirtiest” secrets via Instagram. He’s shared select ones with humor, empathy, and now, full musical productions. The album’s genre reach is vast: jazz, country, punk, R&B, and more, shaped by the creative input of producers Brad Oberhofer, Blake Slatkin, Zach Dawes, and Sega Bodega.
Guests include Julia Fox, Rufus Wainwright, Rachel Sennott, and others from both the film and music worlds. Even Firstman’s mother appears on the record, underscoring the project’s deeply personal tone.
Beyond music, Firstman’s star continues to rise. With screen credits across film and TV—including Rotting in the Sun and Ms. Marvel—he’ll soon headline Rachel Sennott’s next HBO series. Secrets marks a fresh chapter, revealing a voice that’s as sharp in song as in satire.
