“Bad Boys” unites Jax Jones, Rebecca Black, and sooyeon in a thrilling blend of global club culture.
With the release of his new single “Bad Boys,” Jax Jones reintroduces himself. The London-born, Malaysian-Turkish DJ and producer teams up with Rebecca Black and sooyeon to deliver a pulse-pounding record that fuses high-speed energy with global underground influence.
Out now via Eastern Margins and Astralwerks, “Bad Boys” arrives at the intersection of identity, reinvention, and international collaboration. Since relocating to Bangkok at the end of 2023, Jones has immersed himself in Asia’s underground club scenes—drawing inspiration from the “redline” ethos: a term coined by Eastern Margins to describe intense, non-conforming, limit-pushing sound.
Mario Baro’s approach is grounded in storytelling, but elevated by his musicianship and deep cultural roots. Born and raised in southern Spain, his music is a tribute to the legacy of flamenco while embracing the modern elements reshaping Latin music today.
“I’ve been fully locked in on this journey of discovery… and I hope it engages listeners from London to Bangkok,” says Jones. His fascination with subcultures—from Philippines’ budots to East Asia’s breakneck club trends—has shaped a new sound that’s both informed and infectious.
Rebecca Black, an icon of modern pop subversion, delivers commanding vocals, while co-producer sooyeon infuses the track with attitude and percussive power. “This is an unreal collaboration I did not have on my 2025 bingo card… I’m obsessed,” says sooyeon.
More than just a single, “Bad Boys” is a celebration of cultural dialogue and artistic curiosity. As Eastern Margins explains: “Makina to Manyao, Manchester to Malaysia—we both draw from the same sonic mobius strip.”
“Bad Boys” is a statement from Jax Jones—bold, borderless, and just the beginning.
