Groundbreaking producer Introspekt releases new single “The Transmission” and announces her genre-shifting debut album.

Introspekt, the dynamic LA-born, NYC-based producer shaking up bass culture, announces her debut album Moving The Center with the release of her latest single, “The Transmission.” The instrumental track exemplifies her masterful control of mood and low-end, merging dark dubstep with the pulse of vogue ballroom.

Her work, rooted in UK garage and bass, is unmistakably shaped by her perspective as a Black transsexual lesbian—an identity that breathes fresh life into every genre she touches. “The Transmission” offers a taste of what’s to come on Moving The Center, landing June 20 on the revered Tempa label.

“Moving The Center embodies an alternate perspective to that which has been dominant in dance music, particularly so-called ‘bass music’,” says Introspekt. “The narrative it presents is one which throws a wrench in the seemingly common perception of Dubstep as a masculinist sensibility. Moving The Center pushes a feminine physicality to the front of the bassbins. Femmes to the front!”

Built on a foundation of South London dubstep, the album widens the lens—intertwining rhythms from the Black Atlantic diaspora and layering them with contemporary club motifs. The result is a powerful, multi-dimensional sound that’s as personal as it is political.

Fresh off the collaborative EP Tectónica, Introspekt’s debut album promises to challenge convention and expand the language of bass music itself. With “The Transmission” setting the tone, Introspekt invites listeners into a world where vibration becomes revolution.
