The acclaimed producer and songwriter shares his awaited full-length album.
A vibrant collision of timeless influences and modern edge, the project captures the spirit of Los Angeles while weaving in the soulful, global sound that has defined Zayne’s journey.
Sunset & La Brea finds Eric stepping fully into his own artistry. Across the record, he blends funk, soul, and alternative pop into an energetic yet emotionally rich body of work that feels both classic and future-facing. Anchored by focus track “Swurl”, the playful standout track offers a taste of the album’s dynamic range.
Speaking on “Swurl,” Eric shares:
‘I grew up on funk—my brother would play me the classics: Prince, Ohio Players, Confunkshun, Earth, Wind & Fire ect… It’s in my blood. But I LOVE Minneapolis funk, it’s a cold groove that just makes you wanna dance. I’ve always loved that style, and I don’t hear much of it today. So I had to make one for myself.’
Raised in the Congo and later evacuated to Montreal as a child refugee, Zayne turned to music as both an escape and a lifeline. Teaching himself multiple instruments, writing, and producing, he built a reputation as a dynamic force in the industry. His career has since included collaborations with heavyweights like H.E.R., Cee Lo Green, Dallas Austin, Matisyahu, Jordin Sparks, Richard Marx, and Randy Jackson, along with soundtrack contributions to films such as Arctic Dogs, Daddy’s Home 2, Red One, Black Adam, Super Pets, and the hit Netflix series Cobra Kai.
With Sunset & La Brea, Eric Zayne delivers his most personal and expansive project to date—an album that redefines what modern soul-pop can sound like.
