Diva Smith shares ‘Better in Heaven,’ an emotional new single blending introspective storytelling with hypnotic production.
Rising pop artist Diva Smith makes her debut with “Better in Heaven,” a deeply personal track that showcases her signature “Therapy Pop” sound. Combining raw lyricism, swelling melodies, and a rhythmic pulse that intensifies alongside the song’s emotional weight, the single sets the stage for Diva’s artistic identity.
Exploring themes of heartbreak and healing, Diva explains:
“‘Better in Heaven’ reflects on the feelings of hopelessness and confusion that come along with a first heartbreak; the worry that the sinking feeling will never pass, and hoping to every god that you don’t even believe in that it will. It explores the trials and triumphs that come along with healing, and resolves itself in knowing that as time passes, feelings pass too.”
The track was co-written and produced by Stella Smyth, a longtime collaborator Diva met while studying at NYU. Their creative journey began remotely over Zoom during the pandemic and has continued to flourish. GRAMMY-nominated producer Marty MARO (TWICE, Anitta, Selena Gomez) also contributed additional production to the final version.
With “Better in Heaven,” Diva delivers an honest and vulnerable debut, setting the tone for more music to come in 2025.
