Dean Lewis announces “The Epilogue (Deluxe)” for July 11 with new music, including “I Hate That It’s True.”
Australian singer-songwriter Dean Lewis has announced the highly anticipated The Epilogue (Deluxe), set for release on Friday, July 11. The expanded album will include five new songs, led by the surprise release of “I Hate That It’s True,” a track written and recorded just weeks ago.
Dean explains how the song came to life in real-time:
“Usually when I write a song it takes about a year before it can come out. I wrote ‘I Hate That It’s True’ about 10 weeks ago at an Airbnb in Bondi Beach. The day I wrote it we spent 48 hours finishing the production, rushing it over to my team and adding it onto my deluxe album. For me the song is a hint at what is to come on my next album; in the sense of where I’m headed with my songwriting and the more acoustic raw production.”
Alongside the new material, The Epilogue (Deluxe) includes Dean’s massive hit “With You,” which has earned over 62 million streams, 260,000 TikTok uses, and 11 million views on the music video. The song saw strong placements on Hot Hits Australia, Apple’s Today’s Hits, and MTV Global, while also climbing to #22 on the Top 100 AU Radio Chart, #16 Shazam AU, and entering the Global Top 50 Shazam.
A duet version of “With You” featuring Sofia Camara, synced on Married at First Sight Australia, added new momentum to the track in recent weeks.
Also featured is Dean’s emotional cover of Goo Goo Dolls’ “Iris,” rounding out a deluxe edition that bridges past success with future direction. The release will be available on all streaming platforms and as a 2LP limited vinyl.
