Claudia Valentina transforms “Milkshake” into “Candy,” a dark-pop statement with a fearless video.
With her latest single “Candy,” out now via Electric Feel, rising pop provocateur Claudia Valentina turns nostalgia into a power play. Inspired by Kelis’ iconic “Milkshake” hook, the track takes a sultry detour, trading sweetness for a dark-pop groove rooted in agency and edge.
Claudia explains, “I like to release music the same way I make it, what I feel like at the time ‘cause a bad bitch can be many things in one day and ‘Candy’ is like a taste of that other side. Ear candy moments, ‘cause boring pop gives me the ick.”
The music video brings that vision to life. Set against an open field and a rugged road, Claudia and a fearless crew ride vintage vehicles and tear through the wilderness, channeling rebellious glamour with every frame. “The video for ‘Candy’ I’ve had on my mood board for around 6 years, and for it to finally come to life feels super exciting,” she shares. 
“Candy” is the latest in a string of releases that includes “Cry Them Dry,” “When I’m High,” and “Diamonds On My Teeth,” each contributing to the layered identity of Claudia’s upcoming EP. Her ability to bend references and reshape classic pop into something uniquely hers cements her as one of the genre’s freshest voices.
