New single “Bar Star” previews Carter Faith’s debut album ‘Cherry Valley’, out October 3 via MCA.
Carter Faith takes another big step forward with her latest single, “Bar Star,” a spirited offering from her forthcoming debut album Cherry Valley, which releases October 3 via MCA.
True to Faith’s blend of classic storytelling and modern production, “Bar Star” introduces a familiar character with a lovable twist. The track embraces country tradition while reflecting her contemporary flair. “In simple terms, he’s the star of the bar—for better or for worse—but damnit, she loves him,” Carter explains.
Alongside the single, Carter shared “Billy Bob Thornton (Worktape),” a song inspired by her admiration for the actor. “I wrote this song about Billy Bob Thornton because I literally love him… I just had to write about it, and I hope people like this little glimpse into my one-track mind.”
Cherry Valley is an autobiographical project shaped by her experiences in Nashville and beyond. The title, drawn from a road sign, symbolizes a creative haven where her early influences—Tammy Wynette, Nancy Sinatra—merge with her modern sound.
Faith has already proven herself a powerful new voice in country, with prior tracks like “Sex, Drugs and Country Music” and “If I Had Never Lost My Mind…” Cherry Valley ties these pieces together into a defining first chapter.
