Caity Baser’s brand new EP ‘There, I Said It’ represents a turning point in her journey as both a songwriter and performer. Released on Capitol Records UK/Chosen Music, the project captures her willingness to embrace vulnerability, setting it apart from her earlier releases.
The EP stretches across eight tracks, each carefully woven with live instrumentation and influences from the music Caity grew up hearing. With nods to Etta James, Julie London, and The Delfonics, the soundscape departs from her past pop-centered catalogue, instead highlighting strings, horns, and harmonies that feel timeless.
In her own words, Caity explains:
“This EP is all about the things I’ve never spoken about; the things I taught myself to be ashamed of. I’ve had so many experiences that shaped who I am. All the uncomfortable and beautiful things we go through affect who we are now and shouldn’t be forgotten.” 
This release finds her diving into themes of childhood trauma, family relationships, resilience, and love. Her choice to address such personal experiences reflects not only growth as an artist but also courage as a storyteller.
One of the most powerful moments on the EP is ‘Weight Of You (I’m Glad You Died)’, a song that directly confronts deep emotional pain while offering release and empowerment. Its soaring vocals, set against strings and piano, reveal a side of Caity that is both intimate and relatable.
