Brazen Barbie’s new single “Ain’t No Dummy” offers a confident message ahead of her mixtape BRAZEN.
In her latest single “Ain’t No Dummy,” Brazen Barbie explores the power of contradiction with lush production and commanding presence. The track will appear on her forthcoming mixtape BRAZEN, due out August 1.
“Ain’t No Dummy” is confident yet tongue-in-cheek, driven by vibrant production from David Arcade and crisp mixing from MixedByDaniel. Barbie draws from hip hop icons but writes from a distinctly personal space.
“Ain’t No Dummy is about knowing better and still doing it anyway, but on your terms,” she explains. “It’s playful… being petty but self-aware.” 
The music video reinforces that narrative. “It’s playful, hyper feminine… looks can be deceiving,” says Barbie. With direction by NBreezy, the visual contrasts sweetness with sharp awareness.
Her upcoming mixtape BRAZEN is a 12-track exploration of resilience and identity. “BRAZEN is a self portrait,” Barbie states. “I wanted it to feel like turning up, in your head, and in a diary all at once.”
Having previously performed at SXSW and featured in outlets like VICE, Barbie continues to push boundaries with a sound that’s raw, elegant, and unapologetic.
