Bella Renee explores identity, trauma, and personal breakthroughs in her new Dim Mak EP.
Bella Renee returns with a deeply expressive project in ‘NOISE & THE THRILL’, her latest EP released via Dim Mak. Across five Drum & Bass compositions, Renee unravels pivotal personal experiences, crafting a sonic diary of transformation.
From the emotionally raw “Till It Breaks”, to the introspective “Live Wire”, the EP is as lyrical as it is beat-driven. “It’s a reminder that if we push ourselves far enough, we do break,” Renee reflects about the opening track, which features vocals from her father.
Elsewhere, “Jaded” examines how personal focus can isolate us from connection. “I shine light on the push and pull of how I feel navigating new connections,” Bella explains.
“Reverie” stands out as a spiritual reckoning: “It is ugly, but it is a deep celestial light work.” These songs aren’t just music—they’re emotional landscapes.
Closing with “Live Wire”, Renee tackles attachment and impermanence. “The older I get, the more I realize how important it is to detach,” she shares.
