BBC tastemaker Arielle Free and Might Delete Later drop a house-driven anthem built on real emotion.
BBC Radio host and Defected Records mainstay Arielle Free teams up with creative powerhouse Might Delete Later for “Shy,” a personal and euphoric track out March 21. The single showcases a more emotive approach to Arielle’s usual house sound, featuring live instruments and a warm, soaring topline.
The track’s lyrics were inspired by a real voicemail confession—part of Might Delete Later’s ongoing phone line project that invites people to share their stories. This time, the story centered on insecurity and the complexity of forming new relationships while pursuing independence.
“Shy” balances that vulnerability with undeniable groove—built for the dancefloor but rooted in human emotion. It’s a follow-up to Arielle’s 2023 hit “Feels So Good,” which received support from BBC Radio’s Danny Howard and Jeremiah Asiamah.
Arielle has played globally at Defected Croatia, Malta, and Ushuaïa Ibiza, and this release continues her trajectory as both a crowd favorite and evolving producer.
To celebrate, she and Might Delete Later will be in London gathering real stories of self-acceptance from strangers—a fitting extension of their collaborative ethos.
“Shy” is available now from Defected Records, and offers a refreshing, thoughtful take on the house genre.
