“2 much 2 handle” leads Aidan Bissett’s debut album rollout with tour kicking off Sept. 14.
Indie-pop artist Aidan Bissett unveils a vibrant new single, “2 much 2 handle,” via Capitol Records as the latest release from his upcoming debut album shut up and love me, scheduled to drop July 25. The high-tempo track dives deep into the rush of early attraction, using dynamic instrumentation and expressive lyrics to capture emotional uncertainty and anticipation.
“On the table I was kissing your mouth, was it too much to handle?” Bissett asks in one moment, followed by, “Told your daddy that I slept on the couch, but he’s smart enough to figure it out.” The playful, vulnerable delivery underscores the song’s emotional contrast.
“This one feels like a stop-and-go rollercoaster,” he reflects. “It captures the feeling of hitting your highest peaks and your lowest lows. It’s about anticipation — you’re going up and up, but the fall never happens.” That continuous ascent is visually mirrored in the single’s creative visualizer, where Bissett moves forward on a conveyor belt while the world rushes past.
The track joins previously released singles “ricochet” and “are we in love yet?”, giving fans a deeper look into the album’s emotional themes and sonic palette.
Coinciding with the album announcement, Bissett has confirmed a fall headlining tour kicking off September 14 in San Diego and wrapping October 22 in Los Angeles at The Fonda Theatre. The tour includes a stop in New York at Irving Plaza. General ticket sales begin May 16 at 10AM local.
