‘Losing Control’ arrives from KI/KI and Marlon Hoffstadt, first collaboration via Capitol and MC3, announced at Dour Festival.

‘Losing Control’ began with a shared idea and a shared room. KI/KI and Marlon Hoffstadt, also known as DJ Daddy Trance, wrote and produced the single together, shaping a track that zeroes in on the bliss of letting the music take over. Announced last month at Dour Festival in Belgium, the collaboration is their first and is out now on Capitol Records in partnership with MC3.

The theme is straightforward and universal for club culture. ‘Losing Control’ celebrates total abandon, the instant when a crowd steps over the threshold from anticipation into euphoria. Both artists pull that feeling into focus with a production designed for peak hour release.

“I remember playing Marlon’s tunes in my sets before we met and me thinking ‘who is this guy?’” recalls KI/KI. “His tracks just hit differently. After we met for the first time, I pictured us making a track together where our sounds would merge – powerful, crazy but still emotional. Our first studio session followed soon after and everything fell into place. I’m incredibly thankful to share such an epic journey together and, most importantly, SO READY TO LOSE CONTROL.”

Marlon Hoffstadt added, “Even before I knew KI/KI, I wanted to make music with her. She has always been an inspiration to me and I knew it would slap if we got in the studio together. Seeing ‘Losing Control’ unfold makes me so happy. It’s the best of both our worlds: raw, fast, emotional. And crowds just lose it every single time.

The release pivots immediately to a major shared stage. On Sunday, August 10, the pair will play their debut B2B at Zeebrugge Beach on the North Sea in Belgium. The performance is set for an extended five hour run in front of 20,000 people, and tickets sold out within minutes. See below for artist itineraries.

The press note also outlines KI/KI’s wider trajectory. Moving between acid techno and trance, and between queer underground rooms and large festivals, the Amsterdam artist has sold out 20,000 capacity shows, acted as a Spotify Global Equal Ambassador, appeared on DJ Mag’s cover during Amsterdam Dance Event, and made history as the first woman to win the Dutch Edisons Pop Award. Her ‘5 HOURS NYC’ sold out in 30 seconds, while a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and a headline b2b with Job Jobse at Lowlands underpin her dual presence on underground and main stages.
