AURORA debuts heartfelt anime anthem “You Can’t Run From Yourself” for Kaiju No. 8 Season 2.

AURORA unveils her latest musical offering, “You Can’t Run From Yourself (from Kaiju No. 8),” a haunting and introspective anthem composed for the opening of Season 2 of Kaiju No. 8. The song, released via Capitol Records, merges her emotive signature with the narrative depth of one of anime’s most beloved stories.

Crafted as a thematic companion to the inner turmoil of Kafka Hibino, AURORA’s song captures the duality of man and monster. She is known for her ethereal style, and this track deepens that artistry by giving voice to a story rooted in identity and struggle.

In her words: “‘You Can’t Run From Yourself (from Kaiju No. 8)’ was written for those who know the struggle between light and darkness, angels and demons within themselves…”

The track features prominently in the anime’s new trailer, “A New Threat,” which has already hit over 1.5 million views. Season 2 premieres on July 19 at 11:00 PM JST on TV Tokyo and streams globally in real time.

Based on the manga by Naoya Matsumoto, Kaiju No. 8 has grown into a global anime phenomenon. Season 2 picks up with Kafka imprisoned and facing Gen Narumi, the strongest member of the Defense Force, as a new danger looms.

For AURORA, whose admiration for anime has long been public, this collaboration represents a full-circle moment that fuses her love for storytelling with her unmistakable sound.
