Nat & Alex Wolff deliver a fresh twist on heartbreak with new track “If You Never Left Me.”
Multi-talented brother duo Nat & Alex Wolff return with a moving new single, “If You Never Left Me,” out now via Coup D’Etat Recordings and Broke Records. The track leans into nostalgic heartbreak with fresh eyes, offering a self-aware take on first love and emotional clarity.
“We wrote the first version of this song in the house of the person it was about,” the brothers reveal. “It sat for years. Then Alex rewrote the lyrics on a flight back from Europe. It went from sad and delicate to ironic and raw. That version had a voice—ours.”
Musically, the song carries the DNA of a classic ‘90s breakup track—melancholic but never indulgent. The lyrics are sharp, the production understated, and the emotional arc complete.
The release follows their previous single “Soft Kissing Hour”, and its Gia Coppola-directed music video which premiered privately last month. It also marks their first release of 2025, after a landmark 2024 where the brothers toured as support for Billie Eilish and dropped standout singles like “Back Up Plan.”
Known for their ability to blend cinematic songwriting with indie rock textures, Nat & Alex Wolff continue to redefine their place in the genre. With more new music on the way this year, “If You Never Left Me” is just the beginning.
