The deluxe edition of Mae Martin’s “I’m A TV” delivers acoustic intimacy and two new songs on June 20.
Mae Martin’s artistic lens grows even wider with the upcoming release of I’m A TV: Welcome Distraction Edition. Out June 20 via their debut label effort, this deluxe version reshapes the original record with acoustic renditions and two unreleased tracks that heighten the personal intensity of the album.
Entirely self-written and produced in collaboration with Jason Crouse and Wes Marskell of The Darcys, the project captures what Mae describes as a continuation of growing up—well after the supposed age cutoff. These songs are fragile, lush, and unfiltered.
“A chronic oversharer,” Mae says. “But here, there’s no pressure to land a punchline, only space to tell the truth.”
That ethos bleeds into every chord and lyric, making Welcome Distraction Edition a deeply human follow-up. Mae trades the spotlight of comedy for the glow of vulnerability, framing real-life emotion in cinematic tones.
With a supporting tour kicking off in San Francisco on June 10 and making stops in Portland and Vancouver, fans will have a chance to hear both the familiar and the new in a live setting that reflects the project’s intimacy.
