Cisek writes, produces, and performs every track on “Tempered”, her fiercely independent second album.
Robin Cisek returns with Tempered, her most personal and empowering release yet. The seven-track album finds the Métis pop artist taking complete creative control — writing and producing the project herself from her home studio in Edmonton.
“With this project, I wanted to challenge myself to produce my own sounds and the process has been incredibly rewarding,” she shares.
Tempered balances raw lyrics with polished production. Songs like “Play Dirty” exhibit gritty edge, while “Leave Me in the Cold” touches on emotional pain. The title is symbolic: “Tempered glass is beautiful, but strong under pressure. Too much pressure and it doesn’t just break, it explodes,” Cisek explains.
The project follows her 2021 debut Delicate Minds, and marks a bold step into alternative pop territory. As she notes: “My music has definitely evolved thanks to me becoming more confident as a producer and artist.”
Fans will get a chance to hear the new tracks live at her May 30th performance at Chromozone Showcase Room in Edmonton. She’s also working on lyric videos for select tracks including “Reactive” and “Rumor.”
