“Paper Doll” by Samantha Fish blends blazing guitar work, emotional insight, and fearless defiance.

Samantha Fish, a breakout star of modern rock and soul, unveils her new solo album Paper Doll today via Rounder Records. Called “a genuine force of sonic prowess” by Rolling Stone, Fish’s latest work brings together her fierce guitar skills and bold storytelling voice.

Produced by Bobby Harlow (The Go), Paper Doll brims with Fish’s signature “bold and expressive” sound (NPR World Cafe). The album launch includes a national TV debut on The Kelly Clarkson Show, where Fish will perform her dynamic single “Lose You.” Speaking about the song, Fish shares: “It’s my way of saying, ‘I’m on fire and you’re not, so what are you gonna do about it?’”

With nine tracks fueled by passion, vulnerability, and musical exploration, Fish “stretches idiomatic boundaries” (Nashville Scene) across Paper Doll. The title encapsulates her spirit of independence: “It’s about rebelling against other people’s expectations of who you’re supposed to be.”

Recorded during a demanding tour schedule, Paper Doll captures the synergy of Fish’s live band — Ron Johnson, Jamie Douglass, and Mickey Finn — delivering a sound filled with “road-worn chemistry and raw, electric charm” (Blues Rock Review).

After topping charts and earning a Grammy nomination for Death Wish Blues, Fish’s momentum continues to build. She’s currently on tour across North America, including appearances at JazzFest this weekend and next.
