Cassyette delivers deluxe edition of her debut album with new single “Phantom Limb.” Out now via 23 Recordings.
Cassyette builds on her acclaimed debut with the deluxe edition of This World Still F***ing Sucks, released today via 23 Recordings. Featuring four additional tracks—including the deeply moving “Phantom Limb”—this version extends her bold storytelling into new emotional territory.
Alongside new music, fans are treated to the Lady Gaga-approved cover of “Disease,” a stripped-down acoustic of “When She Told Me,” and an extended “Sex Metal” remix inspired by Cassyette’s new club night, Degenerette.
“Phantom limb syndrome is a chronic condition… Phantom limb is about what it’s like to leave someone toxic that never loved you back,” Cassyette explains. “I felt like I had to relearn my entire existence. This World Still F***ing Sucks is very much that chapter of my life. I am closing that chapter now. Life has changed and something new is bubbling.”
With a raw and personal edge, the record blends metal, pop, and electronic influences, addressing themes like grief, mental health, and nihilism. Produced with longtime collaborators Tylr Rydr, Olly Burden, and Olivia Sebastianelli, it includes favorites such as “Friends In Low Places” and “Ipecac.”
Degenerette—a new goth/queer club night—launched in Brighton on April 19, celebrating the alternative scene and Cassyette’s evolving world.
