Ruger’s sophomore album BlownBoy Ru features Tiwa Savage, Kranium, Haile, and more.
Ruger delivers an impressive follow-up to his 2023 debut with BlownBoy Ru, a genre-fluid second album that reflects the Nigerian artist’s continued rise. Released via Promised Land Records, the new album features collaborations with Tiwa Savage, Kranium, Haile, and Zlatan.
As a MOBO 2025 nominee and one of Spotify’s Global Artists To Watch, Ruger is poised for an international breakthrough. His new body of work fuses Afrobeats, R&B, dancehall, amapiano, Fuji, and pop, speaking to a global audience with African roots.
“This album is a statement,” Ruger says. “I still have that raw energy, but now it’s refined, more calculated.”
BlownBoy Ru’s standout tracks include the viral “Toma Toma” with Tiwa Savage, the sensual “DuDu” with Kranium, and “Jay Jay,” a vibrant homage to Nigerian football icon Jay-Jay Okocha. Trap-inspired “Give Away” featuring Zlatan and the amapiano-soul fusion “Runaway” featuring Haile add sonic depth.
Ruger’s COLORS performance of “Toro” added to the album’s momentum, and his recent BBC 1Xtra Live Lounge debut showcased his dynamic vocal range and versatility.
Having reached viral status on TikTok and streaming milestones across DSPs, Ruger now turns to the road with an extensive US and EU tour kicking off this spring, followed by a September UK return—including London’s Indigo at The O2.
With BlownBoy Ru, Ruger proves he’s not just rising—he’s leading.
