EthanUno’s necesidad is a self-produced EP mixing hyperpop, R&B, and Latin sounds, out now via Friends Keep Secrets/Interscope.
Multi-talented artist EthanUno introduces his debut solo EP, necesidad, via Friends Keep Secrets/Interscope. The project offers a kaleidoscopic fusion of Latin pop, hyperpop, and glitchy electronic textures, all meticulously crafted in his home studio.
One of the highlights, “las mañanas”, perfectly captures the EP’s emotional depth and sonic experimentation. With pitched-up vocals and a bouncing club beat, the track reflects on love and loss, with EthanUno delivering the lyrics: “Wish that I could tell you, all the hell I went through / Just for you to mess it up, and say you never meant to.”
From the house-infused rhythms of “DQTC” to the introspective R&B elements of “TLD”, necesidad showcases EthanUno’s ability to merge genres seamlessly.
Sharing his perspective on the project, EthanUno explains:
“Signing to a major label has been one of the biggest growing up moments in my life. This moment has made me realize that everything we do in life is out of necessity. I’ve realized you can be f—ing with someone else’s life through your own fight for what you believe in — that’s the nature of necessity.”
With previous releases featured on Frank Ocean’s Homer Radio and Rosalía’s Interview Magazine playlist, EthanUno’s impact on the music landscape continues to grow.
