Discover Olly Alexander’s heartfelt single “When We Kiss” from his upcoming album Polari, arriving February 7.
Olly Alexander has unveiled “When We Kiss,” the latest single from his forthcoming album Polari, set to release on February 7. The track, accompanied by a visually stunning music video directed by Colin Solal Cardo, delves into the complexities of love and the emotional tension of navigating a relationship at a breaking point. With its dynamic soundscape and heartfelt lyrics, “When We Kiss” offers an unforgettable listening experience.
Speaking about the single, Olly explains, “‘When We Kiss’ is an epic love song about a difficult moment in a relationship, when you don’t know whether you should break up or if you should stay together forever. I wanted this song to reflect those conflicted feelings, all the pain and ecstasy of loving someone. I believe heartbreak and synthesizers are made for each other, and I had the best time making this with my Polari partner Danny L Harle. Our aim was to take the listener on a rapturous journey of heartfelt emotion, from anguish to euphoria and back again.”
“When We Kiss” is the fourth single from Polari. Previous releases have included “Cupid’s Bow,” the album’s emotive lead single, and the energetic title track, “Polari,” praised by Queerty for its nostalgic ’80s-inspired sound. Most recently, “Archangel” was celebrated as an “Editor’s Pick” by Billboard, with the publication highlighting its delicate synth melodies and polished production.
Stream “When We Kiss” now on all platforms, and get ready for the release of Polari, a project that promises to showcase Olly’s signature blend of emotional depth and musical innovation.
